Cowboys Wife Wisdom

image I am still reading this amazing book called "Life is" by Judah Smith. This book is one of those books that you go back to the chapter before to re-read it because it's just that good. I love it! What I was reading today really spoke to me in which I had to share. The author Judah was talking about how we as people like our schedules. Isn't that the complete truth? I don't know about you but I get caught up in planning so many things and making schedules that sometimes by the end of it all it's exhausting. We have to plan things for our kids, for church, for school, for finances, jobs, marriages, family and life in general. Although we think we are doing the correct thing planning everything out, we sometimes are making no room for the openness of "unplanned things". What I'm talking about is the interruptions of God. Judah explains this in his book as God's interruptions are often the most meaningful moments in our lives. But, we don't take the time to let Him interrupt because we are so "planned out". Yes we can plan and prioritize in our lives, but it's always a great reminder to leave the door open for what Jesus has planned for us. In proverbs 16:9 it says, "A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." For myself this means that I need to be aware of the plans that I am making and the plans that my daddy is making for me! As Judah says in his book, "we need to learn to welcome God's interruptions, because his interruptions and inconveniences are the portals to truly living." So today, take this for yourself and really press into not only your own plan for the day, but the plan that He the creator has for you.
