Give Him Your Time

There are many times in my walk with God that I stop my busy dealings of the day and realize that I haven't spoken, listened, read or gave God even five minutes in the last few days. And prayer?  When did I last stop and pray? I seriously have to step back and say, "Whoa, slow down, get your Bible and read." How does that happen?  I know for me, it all depends on how the day starts.  If the girls decide to wake up at a random early time, my "alone time" with God is shot and I just start the day and go full speed until bedtime. This may happen all week and then I get to church on Sunday and pastor is talking about how God is speaking to him and I sit there thinking, "Man, God hasn't talked to me in a long time, I wonder why?"  Haha, that is the dumbest question in the world!  How would my husband feel if I treated him the same way I have been treating God?  We'd have some problems for sure!

James 4:8 reads, "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."  He's patiently waiting for me to get back into the correct alignment where I can learn and be completely submersed in His presence.  Let me tell you, as a not-so-holy-high-and-mighty follower of Jesus the first time I got to experience His presence, it rocked me.  I seriously got addicted to it.  God is waiting to give it to you, all you have to do is give Him your time.

So here's to making time for the Lover of Your Soul!

Have a great week!
