Standing on the shore...

Let's face it, the world we live in these days is what my little boy Traycen would say is "mad chaos." The world around us always makes us feel like we have to know what's going on before it even happens. At every moment we're suppose to know what our life looks like and what our future will hold. Honestly, I think we sometimes get wrapped up in that, or at least I have. I can attest to having moments in my life where there was so much pressure of having to know what I was doing every step of the way. I guess at this point you could say I felt like the wind was at a halt but yet the leaves on the trees were blowing. Please tell me how that works? I felt like my life was out of control and yet it was because I (keyword "I") was the one trying to control it. At this point, my husband CW and I had been praying about a LOT of things. One thing that we were in continual prayer about was our life! We were in question of what it was that we were suppose to be doing and the things that needed to be of priority in our life. We had felt like we were constantly hitting our heads against a wall every time we would do anything with our livestock and our house. We would get things accomplished only to have them fall apart again or not work out the way we wanted them to. We seriously needed to reconsider what we were doing and all the time we were spending doing it.

He calls my name...

God started hinting at things in our lives. We had some major breakthrough on a lot of different levels of areas in our life (a whole different story for another time)! God had really laid it on our hearts to “get things right.” He had first told my husband to prepare to pursue Him in all things and to sell our house. It wasn't until God spoke the same thing to me that it brought confirmation to what God had already spoken to CW.  As soon as we put our house on the market it sold within 6 days. This was even more confirmation that God had it all in His hands and we just needed to trust Him like His Word says. We practically sold everything that we had on our ranch to prepare for where God had us going next. It was time to “take care” of what needed to be taken care of. This was our family. We needed to make time and prioritize our family and our marriage.

Stepping into the waves...

We had no clue where God was taking us but He just kept telling us to trust Him.  It was a week away from our closing that we found a house to rent. With the help of our friends we moved everything within 3 or 4 days. We are now renting a house for this year and waiting for God to show us where we are suppose to go next. I don't know where that will be, what school my child will go to, if we will build or find a house already built, but God continually keeps speaking "trust Me." The person that used to think she had to be in control of everything has been totally abandoned by control! I now am walking in total trust of where God is taking me. I have taken God out of my "control box" and am being totally dependent on Him. I don't know what this entirely looks like but I will continue to trust Him every step of the way.

Don't look back...

I can truly say that there are pieces that I admired about the lifestyle that we had before. But honestly, I am glad that we are in a change of season for now. Even though that has been our lifestyle as a married couple for the past 8 years that doesn't define who we are. There will always be a passion for the "anching lifestyle, but whether we end up there again or not, that's up to God. We can look back in remembrance of the things that we loved about our lifestyle and the memories we shared together but we have to keep our eyes focused on where He has us right now and where He is guiding us. It's okay to not know everything all the time! God does everything in His timing. That there, is called the "perfection of time."

Reaching for His hand...

Let's just make this one simple! I am still learning to trust God as He continually tells me, “just trust Me, I got this." I find that God will remind me when I am starting to step into my own control again and tell me that He has got it. I am consistently checking with Him to make sure I am lining up where He wants me to be.

Take hold...

Take hold of the promises that God has for you. It wouldn't be called faith if you knew where you were going all the time. When our hearts are tender and responsive to God, it is then that He will expand us. As it was once said by my Pastor, "Take care of the area that God has given you and the eternity that He has put into your heart." Partner in this journey with God and trust in Him!

-Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding.
